The tropical version of a cherry blossom tree! 
 
When I was personally looking for the perfect tree for my front yard, I did months of research for the perfect color, size and hardiness. If you are looking for that perfect tree, this is it. 
 
There are several different varieties of cassia, this is the only one with all shades of pink on one tree and is large in size. Cassia Bakeriana is similar but a much smaller tree and the colors aren’t as dramatic. This is a fantastic shade tree and a beautiful addition to any yard. 
 
The blooms are large and Pom-Pom shaped with shades of hot pink, pink and pale pink all on the same tree! After only a few years this tree will wow you with blossoms on every square inch of it. This is the tropical equivalent of the famous cherry trees in DC.
This tree is the talk of the neighborhood. I have both the golden shower and the pink shower tree. The Golden shower has longer dramatic plumes but the bloom time on the pink shower tree is from late spring into early fall. The bloom period is very lengthy. 
 
Grows up to 60-70 feet tall, 25-30 feet wide
 
Hardy to USDA Zones 9b to 13. They can be kept in a pot and will bloom as small as 4 feet tall but will not survive winter outdoors in cooler zones and must be brought indoors.
