5 seeds
Pink Nelumbo Nucifera
Admired for centuries for its symbolism as something so beautiful arising from mud.
Seeds should be scarified*** (SEE BELOW), then should be placed on the surface of a settled layer of compost with a few inches of water covering them and placed in full sun at 70 degrees F.
Seeds will sprout within 10 days. The water level should be raised as the plant grows and placed in its permanent home when large enough.
They can be grown in a pot indoors, raised garden pond, bog or in ground pond. These look beautiful in an oriental inspired vase.
Perennial in zones 8-12
This is for 5 Sacred Lotus Seeds only, bowl not included.

***Step-by-Step Scarification
Inspect the seed
Identify the rounded end and the dimpled end (the “eye”).
👉 Do NOT scar the dimpled end — it houses the embryo.
Scarify the seed coat
Gently use a file, sandpaper, or Dremel to wear away the dark outer coat on the rounded end or side.
Stop once you see the light tan or cream-colored inner layer.
🛑 Do not go deeper — avoid exposing the white core.
Soak the seed immediately
Drop the scarified seed into a jar of warm water (80–90°F).
Use clean, chlorine-free water if possible.
Monitor daily
Replace water once every 24 hours to prevent bacterial growth.
Within 1–7 days, the seed should swell and split, revealing a white sprout.
