Banana Yucca is an iconic Southwestern native known for its bold, sculptural form and exceptional toughness. Stiff, blue-green leaves form dramatic rosettes year-round, while mature plants send up tall stalks of creamy white, bell-shaped flowers in late spring to early summer. After flowering, plants may produce large, fleshy fruits resembling small bananas — the feature that gives this species its common name.
 
Naturally found on rocky slopes, desert foothills, and open grasslands, Banana Yucca is perfectly adapted to dry climates and poor soils.
