Black Eyed Susan (in regards to Rudbeckia Hirta,) is a short live perennial;  Meaning it will live for 2-5 years. However, because it very easily re-seeds, it is often referred to as a standard perennial as plants are slowly replaced by new plants. Zones 4-9
