Cardinal Climber, a member of the morning glory family is a cross-breed of Ipomoea quamoclit (Cypress Vine) and Ipomoea coccinea (Red Morning Glory). This plant is known for its stunning red, star-shaped flowers, which attract hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators throughout the growing season. The flowers are slightly larger than those of its parent Cypress Vine, making it a showier addition to gardens.
 
Its foliage is unique, blending characteristics of its parent plants. The leaves are deeply lobed and partially fern-like, providing a lush, ornamental appearance.  The very fast growing vine typically grows between 6 and 15 feet in height, depending on the support provided.
 
As an annual, it completes its life cycle within one growing season, but it readily reseeds under the right conditions. 
 
These are extremely fast growing and will scale a trellis or fence in no time, without being invasive.
