This is one of those," I must plant these now" seeds! The cutest little cucumbers ever. They look like tiny little watermelons and taste just as crisp and fresh as a regular cucumber but with a touch of lime! These are great in all sorts of cocktails, for pickling, salsas, recipes or simply a garnish for a refreshing glass of water. These are not technically a cucumber but are related to cucumbers. Did you know that cucumbers and melons are in the same family? 
 
These have a substantial and awesome difference, they are perennials in zones 7-10! Very unusual to come across a perennial vegetable! They can also be grown indoors in containers, in any zone! A pot with a tomato cage in it is perfect. They can also be grown in hanging baskets. 
 
These develop tubers that go dormant in winter in zones 7-8B and just grow year round in zones 9+. They can also be grown outdoors as annuals in zones less than 7, but some people actually dig them up and replant them the following spring!
 
These rambling delicate vines can grow up to 10 feet, with twining little tendrils to grasp onto whatever is close by. The vines produce pretty yellow flowers followed by adorable little cucamelons. They are heavy producers too.   
 
These mature in only 65-75 days and continue to produce in the right conditions.
 
These are also referred to as mouse melons, Mexican gherkins, Mexican miniature watermelon and pepquinos.
