This plant has very limited distribution, primarily in sandy soils of sandhills and dry flatwoods, contributes to its rarity in cultivation. The plant's deep taproot, while enhancing drought tolerance, can make propagation challenging, further limiting its availability in nurseries. I gather as many seeds as I possibly can after blooming and then tend to be out for quite some time. Feel free to message me to be added to the waitlist, if I am currently out of stock.

Berlandiera subacaulis, commonly known as "Florida greeneyes," is a perennial wildflower native to the southeastern United States, specifically found in the states of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. It belongs to the Asteraceae family and is known for its small, daisy-like yellow flowers with a green or reddish-brown center. This wildflower typically grows in sandy or well-drained soils in a variety of habitats, including open woods, pine flatwoods, and sandhills.

Florida greeneyes is a low-growing plant, and it blooms from late spring through the summer months.
