The pineapple flower, also known as Cephalaphlora Aromatica 'Pineapples," is a darling and fascinating plant with perfect little golden globes, reaching 18 inches tall. When brushed against, the plant releases a wonderfully sweet aroma of apples and pineapple. 
 
This is one of those, "I have got to grow this and see if for myself," type plants. We did. Super cool. 
 
These grow quickly and are typically grown as annuals but they are actually perennials in zones 9+. So they are half hardy annuals or tender perennials.
