The Orange Habanero Pepper is a small, lantern-shaped chili known for its fiery heat and fruity flavor. It's one of the most recognizable hot peppers in the world, with a Scoville Heat Unit range of 100,000 to 350,000, making it much spicier than a jalapeño. Originally from the Caribbean and Central America, it's a popular choice in spicy cuisines for its balance of heat and sweetness.

The peppers are bright orange when fully ripe, 1–2 inches long, and have thin, slightly wrinkled skin. While they pack a punch, they also offer a citrusy, tropical flavor with hints of mango and apricot, which makes them ideal for hot sauces, salsas, marinades, and even desserts.

----------------------------
Most people don’t know that the trick to big healthy peppers that you see in the store is calcium! Peppers require calcium to reach their maximum potential and to help them combat pests naturally.

Use your spent eggshells or garden gypsum to add calcium to the soil in addition to vegetable fertilizer. I use organic chicken manure based fertilizer.

Do not plant peppers where you just previously planted tomatoes, eggplant or potatoes as this can make them more susceptible to disease as they are all from
the same family. The pests that are attracted to these plants can remain in the soil for a while and build up and cause problems for future crops. They also use the same nutrients and can deplete the soil of what they need in particular if planted in the same spot. It’s always good as a general rule to add fresh soil and rotate all crops.
